Chinese diplomats were familiarized with a presentation on the activities of BMB Holding, large export-oriented investment projects implemented in key sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan. Thus, the guests were presented with enterprises for the production and deep processing of vegetables and fruits, the results of the work of the BMB Agro cluster, specializing in the cultivation of various agricultural crops, including legumes and melons, which can be successfully supplied to Chinese consumers.
Of particular interest to the guests was the project carried out with Italian partners in the joint venture “BMB OPERA ZAFFERANO” for the cultivation, processing and export of saffron in the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region.
The interest of the Chinese side in this direction is not accidental. It is well known that China traditionally occupies a leading position in the world in achievements in the production of food products, cooking, traditional medicine and healthcare, and the field of pharmacology. At the same time, Uzbek saffron, being an effective remedy in the treatment of many ailments and being a natural component of the chemical composition of a number of medicines, is extremely in demand in the vast market of the Middle Kingdom.
The meeting participants expressed their readiness to provide practical assistance in the joint development of sales markets and the search for potential partners in various sectors of the economy and business.
