On April 10 of this year, a meeting took place at the head office of BMB HOLDING between the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Holding, Bekzod Mamatkulov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan, Pergabriele Papadia de Bottini.
At the beginning of the conversation, His Excellency the Ambassador sincerely congratulated BMB HOLDING on its 8 years of operation, particularly acknowledging the Holding’s achievements in a short period and wishing success for its future plans. Subsequently, accompanied by B. Mamatkulov, the Ambassador familiarized himself with the activities of the Holding’s product “Showroom,” guest house, museum, and other facilities organized in the office. The deeply processed products made from the fresh fruits and vegetables of our sunny land left a strong impression on His Excellency the Ambassador.
Economic ties: From existing achievements to new heights
The discussions centered on supplying the Italian market with deeply processed agricultural products from the Holding’s enterprises, particularly dried carrots, onions, pumpkins, as well as fruit and vegetable purees and jams. Additionally, the current status and future prospects of the saffron cultivation and processing project being implemented by the joint venture BMB-Opera Zafferano in the Jizzakh region were discussed.
While considering ways to deepen economic cooperation, an agreement was reached to intensify direct contacts through regularly organizing joint business forums, B2B meetings, trade missions, and other events for representatives of the business communities of both countries as promising steps for the future.
The parties also paid special attention to developing and implementing a strategic approach to attract advanced Italian technologies and investments to promising sectors in Uzbekistan, including agriculture, industry, and services.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed confidence that such open and productive dialogues would create a solid foundation for elevating the multifaceted partnership to a qualitatively new level.
