In recent years, trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and India has been steadily gaining new practical momentum. In particular, direct engagement between the business communities of the two countries is creating a solid foundation for developing new export channels and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
In this context, on August 19, a meeting was held between Bobir Yakhyayev, Director of the Foreign Economic Relations Department at BMB HOLDING, and Sunil Karara, Founder of the Indian company Bhavesh Trading Company, which operates in the agribusiness sector.
Bhavesh Trading Company has been active in agricultural trade since 1965 and has built up three generations of experience in the sector. According to the company, its agricultural trading network covers more than 18 countries across four continents. The company specializes in the import and export of fresh fruits, vegetables, and spices.
The meeting served as a logical continuation of the Uzbekistan–India Business Forum and the B2B meetings held on August 3–4 in New Delhi. During those discussions, representatives of BMB HOLDING and Indian business circles exchanged views on developing new trade channels and expanding export opportunities.
During the latest talks in Tashkent, particular attention was given to the potential large-scale supply of garlic products grown and processed by BMB HOLDING to the Indian market. The parties discussed in detail product quality and volumes, as well as packaging, storage, and logistics requirements.
One of the key outcomes of the negotiations was the Indian partner’s intention to visit BMB HOLDING’s production facilities in Jizzakh Region. The visit is expected to provide an opportunity to directly observe the cultivation, storage, and processing of agricultural products, particularly garlic, assess the products on site, and determine potential supply volumes.
This development marks another important step in moving from a conventional B2B dialogue towards a concrete export opportunity.
At the same time, trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and India continue to develop dynamically. In 2025, bilateral trade turnover increased by 30 percent, exceeding $1.3 billion. The target for 2026 is to increase this figure to $2 billion. Currently, around 400 enterprises with Indian capital participation operate in Uzbekistan, while the portfolio of joint projects exceeds $5 billion.
For BMB HOLDING, this cooperation represents an important step towards entering new markets, promoting Uzbek agricultural products in promising international markets, and further expanding the company’s export geography.
The next stage will involve an on-site assessment of BMB HOLDING’s production facilities in Jizzakh Region, evaluating the export potential of the products, and agreeing on supply volumes, delivery schedules, and commercial terms of cooperation.
Thus, the B2B dialogue that began in New Delhi is now, through negotiations in Tashkent, moving towards a practical stage of cooperation in Jizzakh Region.
