In recent years, there has been significant growth in bilateral relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Italy, which is the result of strategic approaches to developing cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
Based on the mutual interests of both countries, ties have been strengthened, and active cooperation has been established in the areas of trade, investment, technology, and cultural exchange.
A prime example of this is the partnership between BMB HOLDING and HT HOLDING (Italy), where saffron products under the BMB Saffron brand, currently grown in the Bakhmal district of Jizzakh region, are being supplied not only to Italy but also to many European countries, the USA, and more than 20 Arab countries.
Today, on April 14, negotiations were held via videoconference between BMB HOLDING Supervisory Board Chairman Bekzod Mamatkulov and HT HOLDING President Roberto Tucci.
During the negotiations, within the framework of the bilateral agreements reached, issues of expanding saffron plantation areas, processing, developing new markets, and increasing volumes by expanding the existing export geography were discussed.
At the same time, considering the current importance of implementing modern investment projects, solving environmental problems, and introducing advanced technologies in the development of a “green” economy, the prospects for jointly implementing an investment project to generate electricity and heat energy from household waste through processing in Uzbekistan were considered.
The agenda also included the implementation of a project to introduce innovative technologies in agriculture and the construction of advanced greenhouse complexes to bring modern technologies into the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a visit of a delegation of Italian partners to our country on April 24-27 of this year.
