On June 10 of this year, within the framework of the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum, a meeting was held between Bekzod Mamatkulov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB HOLDING, Roberto Tucci, Chairman of HT Holding, and Mr. Attilio Fontana, Governor of the Lombardy region of Italy, who is heading the official delegation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to deepening bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, agro-industrial, and investment spheres. Special attention was paid to further expanding projects to increase saffron plantations, boost production and export of high-quality products with high added value, and introduce modern agricultural technologies.
The head of the Italian delegation emphasized the importance of expanding high-level bilateral political dialogue. Mutual visits of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Italy and the Prime Minister of Italy to Uzbekistan have contributed to shaping a new architecture of strategic partnership between the two countries.
He also highly commended the consistent policy pursued in Uzbekistan to create a favorable investment climate and strengthen international cooperation with European Union countries.
Mr. Atilio Fontana expressed satisfaction with the scale and potential of the Uzbek-Italian joint project for cultivating, processing, and exporting saffron, emphasizing its relevance for the European market and future growth prospects.
Additionally, the Lombardy government highly appreciated BMB Holding’s sponsorship of Milan Football Club together with NT Holding, as well as other initiatives and efforts, recognizing them as a strong bridge of cooperation between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, developing promising investment projects, deepening cooperation between the business circles of the two countries, as well as promoting export-oriented initiatives.
It should be noted that the Governor of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana, invited the head of BMB Holding, Bekzod Mamatkulov, to make a separate visit to Lombardy in the future for further negotiations on the discussed promising projects.
