On June 20 of this year, a meeting took place at the head office of BMB HOLDING between the Chairman of the Holding’s Supervisory Board, Bekzod Mamatkulov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan, Duyshonkul Chotonov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the parties emphasized that due to the efforts of the leaders of both countries, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has reached a qualitatively new level, creating broad opportunities for business circles. These discussions were recognized as a practical expression of developing economic diplomacy with the involvement of the private sector.
During the dialogue, issues of expanding and strengthening cooperation in the following key areas were discussed in detail:
Agro-industrial complex: Practical aspects and logistical issues of exporting high value-added agricultural products, including saffron and other medicinal plants, grown and deeply processed by BMB HOLDING, to the domestic market of Kyrgyzstan were considered.
Investment projects: The possibilities of developing horticulture, creating modern trade infrastructure, and implementing promising investment projects in the tourism sector, taking advantage of the favorable investment climate of the Kyrgyz Republic, were analyzed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a visit of the Holding’s management to the Kyrgyz Republic in July of this year to bring the discussed issues to a practical stage. Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to develop a “roadmap” for specific projects through negotiations with representatives of interested ministries, agencies, and the private sector.
The negotiations were held in an atmosphere of mutual trust and constructiveness, and confidence was expressed that this would create a solid foundation for further diversification of bilateral trade and economic ties.
