On October 5 of this year, another round of talks was held between Bekzod Mamatkulov, Chairman of the Founders Board of BMB HOLDING, and Roberto Tucci, President of Italy’s HT HOLDING.
The meeting focused on developing investment cooperation between BMB HOLDING and HT HOLDING, expanding ongoing joint projects, and advancing new promising initiatives.
It was noted that on October 4, in Bakhmal district of Jizzakh region, Bekzod Mamatkulov and Roberto Tucci took part in an event dedicated to the expansion of BMB ZA’FARON plantations, including the demonstration planting of saffron corms on newly developed land plots. These activities are aimed at gradually expanding cultivation areas and increasing the project’s production capacity.
During the talks, particular attention was paid to fulfilling the task of expanding the saffron plantation area to 2,000 hectares by the end of 2027. The parties also discussed prospects for increasing production volumes, expanding the export geography of Uzbek saffron and saffron-based products, entering new international markets, and, in particular, developing cooperation with the major U.S. retail chain Costco.
In addition to the saffron project, the parties discussed opportunities to implement joint investment projects across various sectors of the economy. The parties agreed to continue working to bring mutually beneficial initiatives to the implementation stage.
Roberto Tucci highly appreciated the favorable conditions being created in Uzbekistan for investment and entrepreneurial activity, noting the broad opportunities available to foreign investors. He expressed his gratitude to President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for supporting entrepreneurs and foreign investors, creating favorable conditions for business development, and advancing reforms and initiatives aimed at strengthening the investment environment.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to take mutually beneficial cooperation to a new level, make effective use of their accumulated experience and existing opportunities, and jointly develop and implement promising initiatives.
