On August 26 of this year, a meeting was held between Bobir Yakhyaev, Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations at BMB HOLDING, and Qi Zitian, Executive Director of the Chinese company Xinjiang Shangkun Hesheng International Trade Co., Ltd.
The meeting focused on expanding trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and China through the implementation of new practical projects, promoting Uzbek products in the Chinese market, and developing promising export opportunities.
The Chinese side was presented with BMB HOLDING’s investment, consulting, and foreign economic capabilities, its experience in working with international investors, as well as its capacity to support export-import operations and implement investment projects.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the prospects for exporting sulfur produced in Uzbekistan to the Chinese market. Trade relations between the two countries in this area already have a practical foundation. In particular, in 2024, Uzbekistan exported 111.9 thousand tons of crude sulfur with a total value of USD 3.47 million. During the same period, China imported 688.8 tons of sulfur from Uzbekistan.
At the same time, the parties considered opportunities to go beyond raw material exports and develop industrial cooperation in the processing of sulfur, production of sulfuric acid, and other chemical products with high added value.
This initiative creates a foundation for expanding the presence of Uzbek products in the Chinese market, diversifying export destinations, and establishing new forms of industrial cooperation based on deeper processing of raw materials.
