From May 3 to 6 this year, the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank was held in Samarkand. The event brought together more than 3,000 participants, including representatives of the Bank, international financial institutions, and high-level delegations.
During the sessions, participants discussed the prospects of transforming Uzbekistan and Central Asia into a major economic and logistics hub, as well as issues related to attracting investment, developing infrastructure, and improving the business environment. Special attention was given to expanding international cooperation, developing trade corridors, and increasing export-import potential.
Among the key priorities were also the support of the private sector, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as issues of sustainable development and the transition to a “green economy.”
The summit then continued its work in the format of B2B negotiations and practical business meetings. During these meetings, representatives of the Holding held discussions with several officials of the Asian Development Bank and other financial institutions, during which the Holding’s new projects were presented. The parties also thoroughly discussed issues related to attracting necessary investments, concluding business agreements, and developing long-term international cooperation.
